His research interests includes Health services research in midwifery, Policy issues relating to the level and timing of intervention during labour and birth, Guidelines for consultation and referral in relation to the scope of midwifery practice, Innovative models of maternity care, Physiological markers of the progress of labour, Epidemiological research into maternity care using large linked-population databases..
