Biography
Dr Bonnie Bereznicki graduated from the Tasmanian School of Pharmacy in 2002. She worked as a community pharmacist in pharmacies throughout Tasmania and Queensland, before returning to the University of Tasmania in 2007 to undertake postgraduate research degrees in pharmacy. She graduated with first class Honours in 2007, and then received an Australian Postgraduate Award to undertake her PhD, which she completed in 2011. Dr Bereznicki’s PhD research focused on using a computerised solution (data mining) within community pharmacies to identity and subsequently educate people with poorly managed asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Research Interest
Dr Bereznicki’s research aligns with the University’s research theme of Better Health. Her research interests include the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as other health conditions. She has a particular interest in how patients’ knowledge, expectations and perceptions impact their medication taking behaviour and health outcomes, and has led a number of national research projects in this area.
