Biography
Dr Barnett has trained as a nurse at Whyalla (South Australia), has worked clnically in a number of hospitals in Victoria and South Australia and held academic and Head of School positions at both Deakin and Monash Universities. He is currently engaged in a number of rural health projects in Tasmania on topics such as: interprofessional practice, simulation, oral health, rural health workforce and clinical education. Dr Barnett has supervised to completion, over 25 graduate student research projects conducted in Australia, Malaysia and Hong Kong. He is a chief investigator with the (national) Centre of Research Excellence in Primary Oral Health care and a board member of the Australian Rural Health Education Network (ARHEN).
