Felix Thun-hohenstein

Biography

Felix Thun-Hohenstein is the Managing Director of 3M Austria & 3M Switzerland (the Alpine Region) since January 2010. From 1978 to 1984 he studied Law at the University of Vienna. He worked in sales at Wacker Chemie GmbH until 1985 when he began his career at 3M Austria GmbH. From 1985 to 1992, he worked in different sales and marketing positions in 3M before being promoted to Regional Sales and Marketing Manager as well as Occupational Health and Environmental Safety positions in 3M Central Region. He held these responsibilities for one year before moving to Marketing Development Manager of 3M Europe & Middle East/Africa from 1993 to 1996. In 1996, he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota to the headquarters of 3M. While there, he worked on brand strategy and was analysis manager, where his responsibilities lied in corporate marketing. After one year (in 1997), Felix Thun-Hohenstein assumed the position of Director, Corporate Marketing and Communication EMEA for 3M Europe & Middle East/Africa. In 2002, for 3M Europe & Middle East/Africa he served as Director, eBusiness and eProductivity EMEA for 5 years before his promotion to Managing Director of 3M Austria. In January 2010, he assumed control of the Alpine Region (3M Austria & 3M Switzerland), before becoming Global Business Director of Winterthur Technology Group (part of 3M).
