Andreas Gellan

Biography

he is a lexicographer for the ‘Wörterbuch der bairischen Mundarten in Österreich’ (‘Dictionary of the Bavarian Dialects in Austria’ WBÖ) at the research department ‘Variation und Wandel des Deutschen in Österreich’ (‘Variation and Change of German in Austria’). After his studies (German linguistics at the University of Vienna), he was a co-author at the D-A-CH-Project ‘Variantenwörterbuch des Deutschen – NEU’ (‘Lexicon of German Standard Varieties’ VWB) which was published in 2016. He also wrote articles for the A-CH-Project ‘Variantengrammatik des Standarddeutschen’ (‘Regional Variation in the Grammar of Standard German’) in Salzburg.

Research Interest

Aside from his lexicographic work, he teaches at the department of German Studies in Vienna.
