John D. Forsyth, age 68, has served as a director of Baxter since 2003. Forsyth has been chairman of Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, a healthcare insurance provider for residents of Iowa and South Dakota, since 2000, and chief executive officer since 1996. Prior to that, he spent 26 years at the University of Michigan, holding various positions, including president and chief executive officer of the University of Michigan Health System. Forsyth currently serves as a director of the National Institute of Healthcare Management. He previously served as a director of Baxalta (before it was acquired by Shire in June 2016). John D.
