Biography
Richard C. Mulligan, Ph.D., joined our Board of Directors in 2009. Dr. Mulligan serves as Chair of our Science and Technology Committee and is a member of our Compensation and Management Development Committee. Dr. Mulligan is a Portfolio Manager at Icahn Capital LP and, since 2013, the Mallinckrodt Professor of Genetics, Emeritus, at Harvard Medical School, after serving as the Mallinckrodt Professor of Genetics and Director of the Harvard Gene Therapy Initiative since 1996. Prior to that, he was Professor of Molecular Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a member of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and the Chief Scientific Officer of Somatix Therapy Corporation, a drug discovery and development company that he founded. Dr. Mulligan was a founding partner of Sarissa Capital Management LP, a registered investment advisor, from 2013 to 2016. He was named a MacArthur Foundation Fellow in 1981.
