Biography

Claire was appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources in May 2008. She is a member of the Corporate Executive Team. She was previously Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Pharmaceuticals International. Claire joined the company in 1996 as Senior Manager, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing Group, UK Pharmaceuticals before becoming Director of Human Resources for UK Pharmaceuticals in 1997. She was appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Pharmaceuticals Europe in 2001, where she successfully led the HR function through the merger of GlaxoWellcome and SmithKline Beecham. From 2003 to 2006, Claire played a key strategic role in the radical redesign and delivery of the New Operating Model within Pharma Europe. Prior to joining the company she worked for Ford Motor Company, holding various positions including HR Supervisor Dagenham Assembly Plant, HR Supervisor Sales & Marketing UK and Central Europe, and OD Manager European Engineering. Claire has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, Management and Industrial Relations from the University of Wales. Claire was honoured as an Outstanding European Woman of Achievement in 2007.
