Biography
Dr. Thierry Langer is full professor for pharmaceutical chemistry at the Faculty of Life Scieces at University of Vienna, Austria. After his pharmacy M.S. degree (1987) he obtained a Ph.D. degree from the University of Vienna (Austria) in 1991. He then spent one year as a Schroedinger post-doc fellow at the University Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg, France) with Prof. C.-G. Wermuth. In 1992 he moved to the University of Innsbruck, where he created the Computer Aided Molecular Design Group. In 2003, he co-founded Inte:Ligand GmbH and acted as CEO until 2008. From 2008 to 2013 he was CEO of Prestwick Chemical in France. Prof. Langer is a well known scientist in the field of computer aided molecular design: His scientific work has culminated in more than 170 original articles and invited reviews in peer reviewed journals, several book chapters, one edited book, and more than 220 presentations at scientific meetings.
Research Interest
His main research interests are focused on theoretical pharmaceutical chemistry, drug design, and pharmacophore elucidation using molecular modeling techniques as well as QSAR and 3D-QSAR.
