Biography
Dr. Thierry Langer is full professor for pharmaceutical chemistry at the Faculty of Life Scieces at University of Vienna, Austria. After his pharmacy M.S. degree (1987) he obtained a Ph.D. degree from the University of Vienna (Austria) in 1991. He then spent one year as a Schroedinger post-doc fellow at the University Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg, France) with Prof. C.-G. Wermuth. In 1992 he moved to the University of Innsbruck, where he created the Computer Aided Molecular Design Group. In 2003, he co-founded Inte:Ligand GmbH and acted as CEO until 2008.His main research interests are focused on theoretical pharmaceutical chemistry, drug design, and pharmacophore elucidation using molecular modeling techniques as well as QSAR and 3D-QSAR.
