Biography
Chai Molina is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at IIASA, working jointly with the Advanced Systems Analysis (ASA) and Evolution and Ecology (EEP) programs, in collaboration with Erol Akçay (University of Pennsylvania) and Simon Levin (Princeton University). His current research focuses on mitigating the detrimental effects of scientific uncertainty on cooperation in international environmental agreements to prevent catastrophic climate change. Dr. Molina obtained his PhD in mathematics from McMaster University (2016) mentored by David Earn. He also holds an MSc in mathematical and theoretical biology from Tel Aviv University, supervised by Lewi Stone, where he studied how epidemics spread on clustered networks. He received a BA in mathematics and physics from the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), as part of The Technion Program for Excellence.
Research Interest
His current research focuses on mitigating the detrimental effects of scientific uncertainty on cooperation in international environmental agreements to prevent catastrophic climate change. His research interests also include biological and cultural evolution, population dynamics and infectious disease modeling.
