Biography

Fulvio Di Fulvio joined the Ecosystems Services and Management (ESM) Program in August 2014 as a postdoctoral researcher on a scholarship given by the Kempe Foundation. His current research interests include the modeling and optimization of forest fuelwood procurement, in order to analyze the integration of forest biomass with the supply of other wood products and biomass from dedicated energy-wood plantations. Dr. Di Fulvio obtained his PhD in Forest Technologies from the University of Tuscia in Italy. During his PhD he studied the potentials and procurement costs of small trees as energy-wood from forest thinnings in collaboration with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). He then worked as a Post doc and as a Researcher at SLU in the Departments of Forest Resource Management and Forest Biomaterials and Technology, where he focused on analyses of innovative systems for fuelwood procurement from forest management, marginal lands and dedicated energy-wood plantations.

Research Interest

His current research interests include the modeling and optimization of forest fuelwood procurement, in order to analyze the integration of forest biomass with the supply of other wood products and biomass from dedicated energy-wood plantations.
