Biography
Sibel Eker is an IIASA Postdoctoral Researcher affiliated with the Advanced Systems Analysis (ASA), Ecosystem Services and Management (ESM) and Water (WAT) programs. Her current project focus is validation of systems models used for exploring scenarios to deal with deep uncertainties. Dr. Eker obtained her PhD degree in 2016, from Delft University of Technology with a focus on dealing with uncertainties in the Dutch energy sector. Prior to joining IIASA, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University College London on integrated decision making in housing, energy and well being; and at Delft University of Technology on the resilience of the transport network in Bangladesh. Dr. Eker's primary experience lies in system dynamics modeling, robust decision making, multi-objective optimization, multi-criteria decision analysis and network modeling.
Research Interest
Her research interests center on the use and development of various modeling and simulation tools to deal with complex policy problems under deep uncertainty, as well as the integration of these tools into participatory research settings.
