Biography

Urs Waibel studied civil engineering at Vienna’s University of Technology (diploma obtained 1978). In 1980 he started his professional career with ILF, working on the “Commercial Vehicle Plant” project managed by Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG in Bauchi, Nigeria. After that, he was primarily involved in projects in the Lake Constance region and, he helped to expand the ILF office in Dornbirn from 1981 to 2011 in his role as office manager. With gas pipeline schemes developed by OMV and the runway improvement 16/34 at Vienna Airport, the ILF office in Vienna was opened in 1996, where he was branch office manager until 2012. Since the establishment of the Swiss companies ILF Zurich (1993), ILF Baar (2002) and ILF Swiss Holding (2015), Urs Waibel has been serving as chairman of the board of directors of these companies. From 2007 to 2013 he was a member of the coordinating committee (CoCo) of the ILF Group. Since the establishment of the project development company Swiss Town Consult (STC) in 2003, Urs Waibel has been acting as chairman of the board of directors, and since 2013 as managing director of the operating subsidiary STC Development in Vienna.
