Biography

FRANK is Managing Director of the Boehringer Ingelheim Corporate Venture Fund. He serves as Board member of STAT Diagnostica in Barcelona, Eyevensis in Paris, and as interim CEO and Board member of Acousia Therapeutics in Tübingen. Dr. Kalkbrenner is also a member of the supervisory and the Advisory Board of Inserm Transfer Initiative, a French Seed Investment Fund based in Paris. Dr. Kalkbrenner studied medicine and holds a degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology. He spent more than 10 years in academic research in the Max-Planck-Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin and in the Institute of Pharmacology of the Freie Universität, Berlin. His academic research focused on gene regulation and signal transduction mediated by ion channels and G proteins.
