Biography
Oswald Mayr was born in Innsbruck in 1949. After studying chemistry in Innsbruck and Georgia, USA, he promoted in Innsbruck in 1974. In 1975, he completed an MBA course at INSEAD in Fontainebleau. He then gained work experience at Abbott Diagnostics. In 1977 he returned to the father company Montavit in Absam. In 1992 he became the sole managing director of the pharmaceutical company. From 1995 to 2005 he was chairman of the industry section of the Economic Chamber of Tyrol and since 2005 he has been vice president. From 2002 to 2008, Mayr was president of the Federation of Austrian Industries. He has been a member of the University Council of the University of Innsbruck since 2008.
