Biography

Sonja Spitzer is currently working on the empirical analysis of intergenerational transfers in an ageing society. Using these measures, she especially focuses on studying inequality within and between generations. She is further interested in the disparities in time use with respect to socio-economic characteristics and the differences in labour market participation. At present, Sonja is a predoctoral researcher at the Vienna Institute of Demography (VID) in the research group on population economics as well as a Ph.D. candidate at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU).
