Biography
Pius Lässer (1931) studied civil engineering (diploma in 1958) and business administration and engineering (diploma in 1960) at the University of Technology in Graz. His first employment was with the office of Dr.-Ing. Wilhelm Merkel in Wiesbaden where he planned water engineering projects. After that, he was with the office of Dorsch-Gehrmann in Wiesbaden, where he planned infrastructure projects – mainly focusing on product pipelines, pumping stations, and tank farms for NATO. In 1965, Pius Lässer was asked to head the project office, which was established by the San Francisco-based Bechtel company for the construction of the Transalpine Oil Pipeline (TAL). In 1967, he founded his own civil engineering office which started operating as Ingenieurgemeinschaft Lässer-Feizlmayr, when he was joined by Adolf Feizlmayr. From that point on, Pius Lässer and Adolf Feizlmayr assumed joint responsibility for the management and implementation of all projects. In 2007, he changed to the advisory board, and in 2016 he was appointed member of the supervisory board of the ILF Group.
