Biography
Rafiga Huseynzadeh, SOCAR vice president on ecology, was born in Baku in 1952. She graduated from the faculty of oil and gas field development of the Azerbaijan Oil and Chemistry Institute (now Azerbaijan State Oil Academy) in 1974. She continued post-graduation and then joined the staff of same institute in 1975-1985. In 1981 she defends thesis on geochemical characteristics of oil and gas fields in lower Kura Region. In 1985 -1999 she held various positions such as scientist, senior scientist and lab supervisor at the department of Isotopes Researches of Azerbaijan State University. From 1999 to March 2011 she worked as Director of AzLab LLC established by State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic. In 2011 Rafiga Huseynzadeh was appointed by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to position of SOCAR vice president on ecology. She has also continued her scientific works since 2001 at the lecturing desk on mineral resources of the Baku State University. Rafiga Huseynzadeh is an author of about 60 reports and researches. She also worked in HARC center in Houston at the invitation of Texaco Company. She attended training program at Geolab in Trondheim and worked at the Statoil Research Center in Norway. In 2004 she received certificate of Bone & Robertson management course. She speaks Russian, English and Turkish languages. She was awarded the “Taraggi” Medal by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. She is a member of New Azerbaijan Party.
