Biography

Litty Mathew Shibu was born in India, in the year 1976. She attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy (BPT) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore in the year 2000. She started her Academic Career as Lecturer at Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy (PIP) in 2000, immediately after her Graduation and was later promoted to the position of Head of Undergraduate Studies at PIP, in the year 2003. During her career at PIP, apart from teaching & evaluation of undergraduate students, she worked as Clinical Physiotherapist at Padmashree Rehabilitation Unit, Bangalore, and Clinical Coordinator at the Employee State Insurance Hospital, Bangalore and Coordinator for PIP Journal Club which was constituted to promote Evidence Based Practice (EBP). Litty had been instrumental in organizing various Community based Rehabilitation Outreach Programs in collaboration with Governmental Agencies and NGO’s. She was appointed as Coordinator for CME program for Padmashree Group of Institutions in 2002 and successfully conducted several workshops in collaboration with IAP (Indian association of Physiotherapists)

Research Interest

Litty is interested in the area of management of Physical therapy practices and Human resource development including continuing professional development (CPD) and evidence based practice (EBP). She has published research articles in the field of CPD and is actively engaged in the research area of EBP.

  • Prevalence of Work related Musculoskeletal Disorders amongst Physical therapists in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Physiotherapy , 2015; Vol 101,pp e54.

  • Role of social media in continuing professional development (CPD) of physical therapists, as a poster presentation at ‘WCPT World Congress 2015’, Singapore, World Confederation of Physical therapists.
