May Jalal Hasan Habib Al Saffar

Biography

May Al-Saffar was born in 25 1983. In 2014 received her MSc (Sustainable Design and Built Environment) from the College of Engineering and IT at the British University in Dubai (Associated with Cardiff University). In 2010 she received her Postgraduate degree in (Urban Studies of the Built Environment) from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban studies at the Bauhaus College in Dessau, Germany. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Bahrain in 2006. May Al-Saffar began her professional practice in the field of Architecture and Interior Design in 2007 and participated in medium to large-scale projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She moved to the United Arab Emirates and started her academia career due to her passion in teaching and sharing the knowledge of Architecture and sustainable Design. May joined Ahlia University of Bahrain in January 2014 as Lecture of Interior Design in the College of Arts & Science. She conducted a research in the area of sustainable design and passive cooling strategies in hot arid climates for affordable housing units and has published papers in various journals. She is also working on some researches in the field of human interaction with the built environment.
