Biography

May Chen currently hold a Bachelor of Science in nursing and I have also had specialized training to become a cardiac nurse which included basic life support and advance cardiac life support training. May Chen has been working as cardiacthoraci nurse for 12 years now and enjoy the challenges that this career brings me. May Chen has handled patients (adult & paediatrics) who have undergone non bypass or bypass cardiac surgeries such as: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Valve Repairs and Replacements Arterial Switch operation TAPVD Repair AVSD Repair VSD Repair TOF Repair Truncus Arteriosus Repair COA Repair Interrupted Aortic Arch Repair PA banding PDA Ligation and Division Systemic to Pulmonary shunts Glenn Fontan May Chen has given care to patients who have severe heart failure, arrhythmias, ventilated patients, patients with tracheostomy, severe respiratory problems, patients requiring mechanical ventilation, on peritoneal dialysis, patient with post pericardial tapping, Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenator (ECMO) and patients with open sternum. May Chen has assisted surgeons during bedside emergency chest openings and chest closure.I am competent in basic chest X-ray interpretation and arterial and venous blood gases interpretation. Beside this,I am competent in intravenous therapy and management as per hospital policies and procedure.
