Biography
Inga received her PhD in Neuroscience at the University Of Kuopio, Finland in 2002 and did her first postdoctoral training in stroke research there. In 2004 She joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the postdoctoral training Program in Vascular Biology and Hypertension, examining the relation between hypertension and the development of AD. Presently, her lab continues these studies, and we are also focusing on the role of vascular pathology in the white matter, the development of cognitive deficits and AD. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Cell Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Research Interest
Inga is interested in the role of white matter pathology in the development of age related cognitive deficits. A second research interest is the role of vascular pathology in Alzheimer disease, especially the relation between hypertension and age-related cerebral dysfunction and Alzheimer disease.
