Biography
Luigi Iuliano received his MD degree summa cum laude and the PostGraduate Diploma in Internal Medicine from Sapienza University in Rome in 1982 and 1987 respectively. He is currently Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Head of Vascular Medicine Research Lab at the Department of Medical Sciences and Biotechnology Sapienza University of Rome at Latina. His research is published in over 80 peerreviewed papers. He is Associate Editor of Journal of Alzheimer Disease Open Clinical Chemistry Journal and Journal of Geriatric Cardiology. His research interests cover a wide spectrum in the field of oxidative stress related disorders including atherosclerosis and neurodegenerative diseases as well as clinical and epidemiological studies. He is deeply involved in cholesterol and its oxidized derivatives oxysterols metabolism and quantification in varied diseases. He is founder and coordinator of the European Network on Oxysterols Research ENOR a network focusing on the chemistry biology and medical implications of cholesterols and related sterols.
