Dr.m.h. Shaheel Mahmood

Biography

  Dr. M.H. Shaheel Mahmood graduated from the Institute of Post Graduate Medicine and Research (IPGM&R) under the University of Dhaka in 1987. Like most other Bangladeshi Medical Professionals he completed his internship from the same Institute. He then started his career as Honorary Senior House Surgeon in ENT at the said institution. Then he joined Government service under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Bangladesh in 1989. There after he was appointed as an Assistant Registrar, ENT in IPGM&R (now BSMMU) in 1991. In 1994 he obtained FCPS from Bangladesh College of Physicians & surgeons, Dhaka. Then he served as Registrar & Resident Surgeon in Dhaka Medical College Hospital for about 4 years. He then obtained another Professional degree Master of Surgery (MS) under the University of Dhaka in 2000 and appointed as a Junior Consultant, ENT. He then joined the department of ENT in Chittagong Medical College as an Assistant Professor and worked there for about 19 months. In 2002 he was designated as an Associate Surgeon, ENT in Shaheed Suhrawardi Hospital. He also worked as Senior Consultant in a secondary care hospital for 9 months. Later he joined as an Associate Professor of ENT and Head of the department in Rajshahi Medical College & Hospital. Dr. Shaheel obtained advanced training in his respective field across the country and abroad as well. During his professional life he was involved in teaching of Medical Students in different levels and performed numbers of ENT Surgeries. He has some publications on National and International medical Journals. He is a life member of Bangladesh Society of Otolaryngologist and Head Neck Surgeons and Bangladesh College of Physicians & surgeons. He joined Square Hospital as Consultant-ENT and Head & Neck Surgery.
