Biography

Dr. Praticò received his M.D. from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, School of Medicine where he also completed the residency program in Internal Medicine. After receiving a European Research Award fellowship, he spent two years of post-doctoral training at the University of Dublin. In 1994, he joined the University of Pennsylvania as Research Associate, where he was promoted to Assistant Professor of Pharmacology. In 2007, he moved to Temple University in Philadelphia as an Associate Professor of Pharmacology, Microbiology and Immunology. He has authored over 177 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, authored more than 16 review articles and more than 10 book chapters. He has received many awards for his research accomplishments including the Irvine H. Research Interest

Pratico′s main research interest is clinical pharmacology with a special focus on the cellular and molecular aspects of oxidative neurobiology, and their role in the pathogenesis of chronic neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.
