Gabriella Calviello is an Associate Professor of General Pathology at Catholic University Faculty of Medicine Rome Italy. She earned the Magistral Degree in Biological Science in 1978 La Sapienza University Rome Italy and the title of Specialist in General Pathology in 1985. She completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Catholic University Rome Italy in 1984 and in Basel Switzerland Cardiovascular Research CIBA GEIGY in 1988. She was Assistant Professor at Institute of General Pathology Catholic University  Rome Italy from 1985 to 1999. She is member of the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids ISSFAL. She is serving as an Editorial Board Member also for Nutrition an Metabolic Insight and as a reviewer for 23 reputed peerreviewed International Journals. She is author of 69 papers published in International Journals with Impact Factor and of many book chapters. She has been recently Editor of the book Omega3 Fatty Acids and Cancer Springer 2010.

Research Interest

Anti-tumoral and anti-inflammatory effect of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids: molecular mechanisms involved. New methodologies for polyunsaturated fatty acid delivery in conjugation with antioxidants or other chemopreventive agents. Study of the effects of the new combined drugs in vitro and in vivo.
