Biography

 Francois is a visiting fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and a research associate at the Centre for International Environmental Studies of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. Francois was previously a researcher with the Grantham Research Institute from April 2014 until July 2016 where his research focussed on the economics of adaptation to climate change and energy use. Francois has a PhD in economics that he prepared at the Centre of Industrial Economics of Mines Paris Tech Graduate School, France. His PhD dissertation deals with energy efficiency policies and is entitled “Investing in energy use and production to mitigate and to adapt to climate change”. Moreover, Francois has a Master’s degree entitled “Economics and Public Policy” from the Political Studies Institute of Paris, Sciences Po. Before joining the Institute, Francois has worked for three years as an environmental consultant for BIO Intelligence Service, a French company member of the Deloitte Group, where he was focusing on issues related to energy efficiency and contributed to around 15 reports for the European Commission (DG CLIMA, DG ENV, and DG ENER); the French Agency for Environment and Energy Management (ADEME); the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA); and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
