Biography
More than 20 years experience in Pharma R&D, primarily in the Biopharm sector. Expertise in Drug Development, Portfolio and Project management. Present role: Senior Alliance Director, GSK University of Cambridge strategic Alliance. Responsible for leading the delivery of high value strategic external interactions with key biomedical institutes across the south east, including academia, research institutes, NHS, SMEs and Biotechs. Previous role: Director of Biopharm Portfolio Operations, BioPharm R&D • Portfolio Management: Responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of programs from Discovery through to Development (Commit to Target to Candidate Selection). Tracking progression against agreed portfolio milestones . Forecasting potential bottlenecks and resource issues for customers downstream. Driving decisions on asset prioritisation and providing strategy and solutions to guarantee that the pipeline flow is smooth and candidate selections are regularly spaced. Previous Role: Manager, Cell Banking and Virology • Project Management: Leader of four Biopharmaceutical Product Development teams developing Mabs. Accountable for ensuring delivery of the Process, Product and CMC submissions to the larger project team. Teams have successfully completed manufacture, testing and release of drug supplies for pre-clinical efficacy, toxicology, DMPK, FTIH and PhII studies to time, budget and quality requirements. Manufacture of PhII supplies out of the US required leadership of a transnational team to complete tech transfer. Recently involved in developing plans and strategy from PoC to Launch to secure a commercial supply chain.
Research Interest
Management of cell bank safety testing: Design and execution of numerous cell bancharacterisation studies performed with external suppliers (CHO, E.coli and yeast cell banks).
