Biography

 Dr. Leonid A. Melamed, Ph.D., serves as the Chief Executive Officer at RusnanoMedInvest, LLC. Dr. Melamed is a Founding Partner, Member of Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RMI Partners. Dr. Melamed has been Director General at OJSC IC Allianz since September 15, 2003. He is a Co-Founder of Doctor Ryadom. Dr. Melamed serves as the Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board at Team Drive CJSC. He has been the Chairman of CJSC since 2012. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Sistema and President of Sistema at JSC Sitronics from May 2008 to March 5, 2011. He served as General Director of System’s affiliate, Rosno from February 1992 to June 1992. He served as Director General of OJSC ROSNO from September 15, 2003 to March 5, 2011. He served as the Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board of Mobile Telesystems PJSC from June 14, 2006 to May 2008 and also as its Executive Director from June 23, 2006 to October 2008. Before joining NovaMedica’s leadership team in 2012, he served as President and Chairman of the Management Board and member of Board of Directors of Systema JFSC from 2008 to 2011. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at MTS Inc. from June 2006 to July 2006 and Acting Chief Executive Officer since April 13, 2006. Dr. Melamed served as the President of the Management Board at OJSC Rosno from September 15, 2003 to August 2007 and its Member of the Management Board until August 2007. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Management Board of ROSNO in 2003. From 1991 to 2006 he served at ROSNO Insurance Company and served as a Director General and Chairman of the Board of ROSNO Insurance Company since 2003. For 15 years from 1991 to 2006, participated in creation and development of ROSNO. He served as First Deputy Director General at Rosno from September 1997 to March 2001. From September 2003 to April 2006, he served as General Director and Chief Executive Officer at Rosno and from March 2001 to September 2003, he served as First Deputy Director General-Executive Director. From June 1992 to June 2003, he served as a Deputy Chairman of the Management Board at ROSNO. He has over 25 years of management experience at large companies in various market sectors. He served as the Chairman of Management Board at Sistema JSFC from July 2008 to March 9, 2011. Dr. Melamed serves as Member of Board of NovaMedica, Doctor Ryadom and RusnanoMedInvest, LLC. He serves as Director at MTS Inc and NovaMedica LLC. He served as Chairman of Russneft from 2010 to 2012. He served as Chairman of RussNeft OJSC from 2010 to 2012. He served as Deputy Chairman of Sistema JSFC from 2011 to May 2012. He served as a Director of OAO NK RussNeft from June 28, 2010 to 2012 and MTS Inc. since June 2006. He served as Director Sistema JSFC from June 2009 to May 2012. He served as Director of ROSNO's Centre for Medical Insurance. He served as a Director of GSM Association since 2008; OJSC Rosno until June 15, 2011 and OJSC IC Allianz. He served as a Director of Public Joint Stock Oil Company Bashneft. From 2012 to 2013, Dr. Melamed served as a Member of the Supervisory Board of VTB OJSC. He served as a member of the Supervisory Board of VTB OJSC from 2012 to 2013. He served as an Independent member of Supervisory Council at JSC VTB Bank until June 28, 2013. In 2004, he was elected Chairman of the Expert Council in Insurance Legislation and served until 2006. He is a member of the Government Expert Council of the Russian Federation. Dr. Melamed has won numerous awards in Russia for his successes in strategic leadership and operational efficiency. In 2004, he was named “Person of the Year” in the annual “People of the Year” project by Rambler. He also received the Russian public award in the insurance sector “Golden Salamander” in the category of “The Manager of Insurance Company”. Dr. Melamed was named as one of the top 250 “Young Global Leaders” by the World Economic Forum in 2007. In 2005, he was winner of the Person of the year 2005 National Award in the Head of Insurance Company nomination; In 2009 – the Best Top Manager of the year 2009, winner of ARISTOS-2009 Award of Managers Association and PH; In 2009 – included to the High-Potential Management Personnel Reserve of the President of the Russian Federation (the Golden 100); and in 2010 – the Best Top Manager in Financial sector according to PH Commersant 2010 Top Managers Rating. Dr. Melamed holds a Degree of Candidate of Sciences and is a Doctor of Medical Sciences since 2006. He holds a Ph.D. in Medicine and graduated cum laude with honours from the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy.
