Biography

Self-directed and self-motivated leader with solid, in-depth technical knowledge; scientist, technologist, problem solver, and prolific inventor with more than 140 US patent applications, 100 of which have been granted. Initiation and management of projects, sponsored projects and partnerships with different individuals and institutions including companies in USA, Italy, France, Ireland, UK, Japan and Germany among others; research and development.  Technical: thin film technologies; thin-film and bulk piezoceramics; ceramic MEMS and membranes; micromachined devices; printing technologies; printed electronics; anodic oxides and self-assembled structures; hydrogen separation; solid-oxide fuel cells; surface chemistry; relating materials composition, structure and properties to device performance.
