Biography

Sue Anne Teo is a Programme Officer at the National Human Rights Institutions Unit at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in Sweden. She is currently working with the Myanmar project and is based in Yangon, Myanmar until the end of 2015. Before working with the Myanmar project, Sue Anne had also worked on the Vietnam and China projects with RWI in a similar capacity. Prior to joining RWI in 2011, Sue Anne worked in the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees office in Kuala Lumpur for four years as a Senior Refugee Status Determination officer. She also has working experience in two national human rights institutions, namely SUHAKAM (the Malaysian National Human Rights Commission) and the Provedoria in Timor Leste which was a seconded posting from the OHCHR peacekeeping mission. Sue Anne Teo has a First Class bachelor’s degree in law from University of London and two Masters degrees, one in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and the other, a Master of Laws from University of Cambridge. Sue Anne is a Malaysian national.
