Biography

Krutko (born May 20, 1949, village Lyaskovichi, Oktyabrsky district, Gomel region), a scientist in the field of physical and colloid chemistry. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (2009, Corresponding Member since 1994), Doctor of Chemical Sciences (1991), Professor (2003). He graduated from the Belarusian Technological Institute (1971). In the years 1971-1981. engineer, senior engineer, junior researcher at the Institute of Physical Organic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR. In 1981-1993. Senior Researcher, Deputy Director, 1993-present Director of the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. In 2004-2010, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, at the same time since 2008, the General Director of the State Scientific and Production Association "Chemical Products and Technologies". He heads a scientific school on colloid chemistry and physicochemical mechanics. He developed ideas about the binder, flocculating and hydrophobizing effects of oil, polymer and surface-active modifiers in the dispersions of salts and minerals, the mechanism of their influence on the formation of the condensation-crystallization structure of polycrystals of alkali halides was established. The research results formed the basis for the development of new production technologies and application of mineral fertilizers at OJSC Belaruskali.

Research Interest

He investigated the kinetics and mechanism of catalytic decomposition of hydrocarbons, proposed new effective catalytic systems that increase the yield of low molecular weight olefins during the pyrolysis of hydrocarbon feedstocks. Under his leadership, scientific foundations for the production of cationic bitumen emulsions were developed, which ensured the wide introduction of energy and resource-saving technologies in Belarus for the production and use of new materials for repair and maintenance of roads. The author of more than 380 scientific works, including 3 monographs, 87 inventions.
