Geert De Loore

Biography

Dr. De Loore has been an orthopaedic surgeon and member of the orthopaedic association in Az Damiaan Ostend Belgiumsince 1995, performing hip and spine surgery and traumatology. From June 2017 he joins Dr. De Smet in the ANCA Medical Center and will exclusively focus on hip surgery. Experienced with all approaches to the hip, all primary total hip surgeries have been performed using the Anterior Approach since 2008. Through an incision in front of the thigh Dr. De Loore reaches the hip joint and implants the prosthesis without cutting any tendon or muscle. He's performed over 1500 hip replacement surgeries and obtained vast experience with this muscle and tendon sparing technique for faster, less painful recovery. Dr. De Loore is an international reference surgeon for this technique for ZimmerBiomet, one of the world’s largest orthopaedic companies. He regularly welcomes surgeons from all over the world to demonstrate and teach this technique. He also instructes on international workshops. Resurfacing is a speciality of Dr. De Loore, performing them since 2001 aso with the posterior approach. He regularly performs revision surgery of the hip, with or without reconstruction of the pelvis and/or the femur.
