Ans De Vos

Biography

Ans De Vos obtained her PhD in 2002 from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Ghent University. She holds a master degree in Psychology (K.U. Leuven) and Human Resource Management (University of Antwerp). Her doctoral research focused on newcomers’ psychological contracts, i.e. the expectations new employees have regarding the terms of their employment relationship and how these evolve during the socialization process. During her doctoral studies, she was a doctoral fellow at Tilburg University (The Netherlands). She is currently professor at Antwerp Management School, where she holds the SD Worx chair “Next generation work: Creating sustainable careers”. As part of this chair, she conducts research on changing psychological contracts, career expectations and career development of different generations, and the impact of innovative career policies on human capital and firm-level outcomes. She is a co-promoter of the “Steunpunt Werk en Sociale Economie”, a policy research center funded by the Flemish government and ESF and she is also research fellow at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the K.U. Leuven. Within the Masters programs at Antwerp Management School she is the academic director of the “personal development trajectory”, which aims to guide students in the development of their self-awareness and personal functioning in view of their future career. Her work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, and European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology.
