Biography
Ralph Mösges, FAAAAI (MD, PhD, MSc Electrical Engineering) is an otorhinolaryngologist and allergist and since 1996 has been Professor for Medical Informatics and Deputy Chairman of the Institute of Medical Statistics, Informatics and Epidemiology at the University of Cologne in Germany. He was previously an otorhinolaryngology consultant responsible for the ORL Allergy Clinic at the University Hospital, Medical Faculty of Aachen, where he is currently a lecturer in otorhinolaryngology. Following the completion of medical and engineering studies at the Universities of Aachen and Munich in Germany, Ralph Mösges received specialist training in otorhinolaryngology and received advanced degrees in otorhinolaryngology, allergology and he holds a PhD degree in medical informatics. In 1986 he was a fellow in clinical pharmacology at the WHO co-operative centre LERS in Paris and Munich and later served as a consultant for this scientific institution. His current major research fields are allergology, epidemiology and clinical pharmacology and he has given many lectures and speeches on these topics, including keynote lectures. Ralph Mösges is the author and editor of 7 books and has published more than 150 articles in prominent journals. He holds several editorial positions for such journals. He serves as a member of the guidelines committee of the German Academy of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and is a member of their task forces for the development of guidelines in sensorineural hearing loss and in rhinosinusitis.
