Biography
Souad Rahmouni earned her Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Liège (Belgium) in 2001. Her PhD project was focusing on the understanding of the role of the cyclic-AMP-dependent protein kinase A type I and the PGE2/COX2 pathways in the pathogenesis of a murine AIDS (MAIDS) model. She next moved to Sanford-Burnham Institute (La Jolla, CA, USA) for a postdoc training with Dr. T. Mustelin where she investigated the molecular mechanisms of the negative regulation of T-cell activation and the role of several protein tyrosine phosphatases in T-cell receptor signaling. Dr Rahmouni became an independent PI in 2005 at the University of Liège, Belgium.
Research Interest
Dr Rahmouni is interested in investigating the role of protein tyrosine phosphatases in thrombosis and haemostasis, immune response, inflammation and cancer.
