Biography
Natalie is a graduate in Combined Science in Applied Biology and Geology. She has worked in health education in the HIV/AIDS field working in secondary schools in Scotland and on multiprofessional training initiatives both in Tayside and in Romania. In 1999 Natalie joined the Medical School as the administrator for the Masters in Medical Education programme before being seconded to the IVIMEDS project, an international medical education collaboration in e-learning, initially as administrator and then as the Chief Operations Officer. As lecturer in e-learning Natalie also serves as the Medical School’s e-learning lead and coordinates the work of the Technology and Innovation in Learning Team. She and the team support clinical teachers to apply technology to enhance and support teaching and learning in the undergraduate curriculum.
Research Interest
The design and usability of online learning environments and their role in supporting learning. The role of Web 2.0 tools and technologies in enhancing teaching and learning helping students to become producers of learning and develop personalised learning environments that support lifelong learning.
