Stéphane Verdood

Biography

  Mr. Stéphane Verdood, M.sc/MBA, is a Co- Founder, Founding Partner and Managing Partner of Vesalius Biocapital Partners Sarl. Since October 2000, before he joined Vesalius Biocapital, Mr. Verdood has been active as a venture coach for early-stage companies. He serves as Director of Business Development, Belgium at Starlab. Mr. Verdood served as the Managing Partner at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting Belgium. He is a recognized venture capitalist and mergers and acquisitions specialist in Europe and has been active as a venture coach for early-stage companies. For the last 11 years, he has been a Consultant to healthcare and pharmaceutical companies. He was a General Partner at Mara Venture Partners. Mr. Verdood started his career with Arthur Andersen as an Information Technology Auditor. After having led the mergers and acquisitions division of Arthur Andersen in Belgium (alternately Andersen UK) from 1989 to 1995, he founded and led Arthur Andersen’s business consulting division in Belgium and Luxembourg and served on the European Board of Partners of Arthur Andersen. As a Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for Arthur Andersen in healthcare, insurance and the food industry, Mr. Verdood was responsible for direct investments totaling $20 million and mergers and acquisitions totaling $350 million. He started Value4Growth and served as its Founder and Managing Partner. Since 2007, he has invested in more than 15 biotech companies. He serves as a Director of Trod Medical S.A., Apitope International NV, Bienca S.A., GenKyoTex S.A., and Trod Medical. He serves as Member of supervisory board at Genomic Vision, S.A. He holds an M.B.A. degree, Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven.
