Biography

  Dr. Paul Magrez M.D., Ph.D., is a VC Partner at Fund+ NV. Dr. Magrez has been the Chief Executive Officer of Biomedical Diagnostics in Paris since 2007. Dr. Magrez served as Chief Operating Officer of Fujirebio Europe N.V. (Innogenetics NV) from 2001 to 2007. Dr. Magrez served as Interim Chief Executive Officer of Innogenetics NV. from November 9, 2004 to January 1, 2005. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of TheraDiag SA. In 2011, Dr. Magrez founded his own consulting firm in support of SMEs and start-ups, Paul Magrez BVBA. From 2009 to 2011, he served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman at BARC. He has more than 20 years of experience in diagnostics (personalized medicine), clinical biology, biotechnology (vaccines), and pharmaceutical industries. He has over 15 years of experience in management positions within pharmaceutical companies such as UCB, SmithKline Beecham Biologicals, GlaxoWellcome and GSK. Dr. Magrez started his career as Consultant in biostatistics for pharmaceutical companies.After working at UCB as data management R&D Manager from 1988 to 1992, he moved on to GSK, to take the position of Information Resource Director from 1992 to 1997 and Executive Director of Business Operations from 1997 to 2001. He pursued his career as Data Management and Biostatistics Manager at UCB (1988). In 1992, he joined SmithKline Beecham Biologicals as Information Resources Director where his primary responsibility was in IT and business process reengineering projects. He joined GlaxoWellcome in 1997 as Executive Director Medical and Regulatory. At that time, he was closely involved in the merger between GlaxoWellcome and SmithKline Beecham to create GSK. In 2000, he was promoted to Executive Director Business Operations responsible for GSK's operations in the Belux. Dr. Magrez has been Independent Director of Bone Therapeutics SA since 2015. Dr. Magrez is a Medical Doctor and Computer Scientist. Dr. Magrez holds a Medical Degree in 1982 and holds a Ph.D. in computer sciences from the University of Brussels (ULB - Belgium).
