Roland Baron 

Biography

  Prof. Roland Baron, MD, PhD is the Founder and Editor-In-Chief of BONE, the official journal of the International Bone and Mineral Society. Prof. Baron served as the President and Chief Scientific Officer of ProStrakan Group PLC until April 2006. He was the Founder, President and Chief Scientific Officer at Galapagos SASU. He served as the President and Chief Scientific Officer at ProSkelia SASU. In 2002, he founded ProSkelia. He served as Vice President and Head of the Bone Diseases Group for Hoechst Marion Roussel Pharma from 1994 to 2002. He has been an Independent Director at Bone Therapeutics SA since 2015. He has been a Member of the Council of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the International Bone and Mineral Society. He serves as Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Bone Therapeutics SA. He served as a Director of ProStrakan Group plc until December 2005. He is also Professor in Cell Biology and Orthopaedics at Yale University School of Medicine from 1977 to 2007. He is Professor at the Harvard Medical School, Endocrine Unit, Massachusetts General Hospital and Chair of Oral Medicine at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine from January 2008. He received his DDS and PhD degrees from the University of Paris, France.
