Mark Vaeck

Biography

  Dr. Marc Vaeck, PhD. is a co-founder of Complix NV and has been its Chief Executive Officer since May 2010. In 2008, Dr. Vaeck co-founded Complix. Dr. Vaeck served as the Chief Executive Officer of ActoGeniX NV from June 2006 to April 19, 2010. He co-founded Ablynx NV in June 2001. Dr. Vaeck served as a Consultant of Ablynx NV. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ablynx NV from 2001 to March 2006. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of Ceres Inc., a plant genomics company based in Malibu, California. Between 1993 and 1998 he served as Director of Business Development and thereafter as Chief Executive Officer of Keygene N.V, a biotechnology company in The Netherlands. Dr. Vaeck served as Director of Business Development at EuroCetus (Chiron Corp.), and also served as Manager of Licensing at UCB Pharma and Manager of Business Development at Plant Genetic Systems. He has 25 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. He was Chairman of the BioWin jury. He served as a Director of ActoGeniX NV. He has been a Director of Complix NV since 2008. He served as a Director of Ablynx NV. and AlgoNomics NV. Dr. Vaeck received his Ph.D in Immunology in 1982 from the Free University of Brussels.
