Biography
Ashley is a Lecturer at the Centre for Medical Education (CME). She initially joined the Centre as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the Scottish Medical Education Research Consortium (SMERC). Her background is psychology having completed her PhD at the University of St Andrews, where she examined social problem solving, memory, and depression.
Research Interest
Ashley’s research interests surround understanding how health professionals develop resiliency and coping skills as they progress through their training. She is particularly interested in how educational structures support this development. Other research projects she has been involved with include exploring Scottish medical and dental education research priorities, evaluating supervised learning events in the foundation programme, and exploring communication anxiety and burnout in medical students.
