Biography
Michael began his career as a surgeon in the surgical department at Cairo University Hospital. To complete his higher surgical training, he entered the national surgical training programme in Germany. Michael’s main clinical and research interests are in the laparoscopic surgery. He has a diploma in advanced laparoscopic surgery from the University of Strasbourg, France. Michael has a great interest in teaching. He obtained his Masters degree in Health Professions Education from Maastricht University, Netherlands. He has been a Clinical Research Fellow at the Cuschieri Skills Centre (CSC) since 2014, completing an MD degree thesis on surgeon errors and laparoscopic training. In addition, he is a faculty member at CSC, teaching in the laparoscopic courses.
Research Interest
Research interests are around: Training and education in laparoscopic surgery. Decreasing human error in laparoscopic surgery in order to improve patient safety.
