Biography
Mike got his B.Sc. in Computer Engineering back in 1994 where he worked in various IT posts from Software development in AT&T Egypt to the Head of front line support team in HSBC bank Egypt. Mike then, in September 2004, came to Scotland to get his Master degree in Information Systems Management – Stirling University. After finishing his master degree with Distinction, he joined NHS Fife as a Knowledge Transfer Associate in conjunction with Stirling University for 3 years where he worked to develop a new way to map patient’s pathways interactive over the web. Additionally, Mike worked with the School of Management in Stirling University to develop simulation models for various clinical areas like A&E and Orthopaedics clinics. In 2006/2007 Mike worked as a visiting tutor in Stirling University teaching Information Management and Database for post graduates. In 2008 Mike continued working with NHS Fife as a Process Design Analyst where he was involved in the Planned Care Collaborative and 18 Weeks Referral to Treat project helping clinicians to re-design management systems to achieve government targets . Mike also was involved in developing simulation models helping NHS Fife management to plan for the new hospital in Kirkcaldy and also in developing the new system of hospital at home for patients over 65. Mike then moved to NHS Fife Public health where he became responsible for maintaining and developing the KnowFife web site in conjunction with Fife Council. In May 2013 Mike joined the HIC Services team as a data analyst.
