Biography
Dr Rob Jarvis is the lead for Student Support within the undergraduate medical school. He holds the roles of Honorary Senior Lecturer and Academic Mentor helping students with both academic and pastoral issues that may be a barrier to progression or optimal health and wellbeing. Rob graduated from the University of Oxford with an MA in Human Sciences in 1990. From the dreaming spires he went on to the screaming tyres of Leicester to study medicine, graduating in 1996. Following a Masters in Public Health and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from Liverpool Rob moved to Scotland, got married, got fit, had kids, became a GP and worked in a great clinical job as a children’s hospice doctor for eight years. Rob is passionate about teaching and support and considers it a real privilege to work with such keen and dedicated students.
