Research Interest
I work closely with the Tayside Tissue Bank to collect and store tissue samples from patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). The availability of primary human tissue has enabled the development of translational research themes involving collaborations with the International Working Group in MDS and Cancer Genome Project and several high impact publications. My laboratory research interests also include therapeutic targeting of CLL in pre-clinical models. Recent work includes identifying the autophagy-inhibitory properties of the small molecule sirtuin inhibitor Tenovin-6 in primary human CLL cells.
