Zhou Xiaowei

Biography

Xiaowei Zhou graduated from the Yangtze University, Hubei, China as an undergraduate in 2010, and received his MSc degree from the East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China in 2013. He obtained his PhD at the University of Dundee, Scotland, UK. His PhD project was about measuring and validating the flow related hemodynamic parameters in arteries using ultrasound, involving the design of validation methods for ultrasound-measured parameters and signal processing of the ultrasound data. Research Interest

It is well known that the conventional Doppler ultrasound system could estimate only the velocity component in the sound beam direction. This leads to the explorations of flow velocities in two or three directions with novel ultrasound methodologies, using either new beam-forming strategies or new post-processing methods. Dr Xiaowei Zhou is currently working on developing new approaches for reconstructing the vector flow information in the cardiovascular system.
