Bruce Hamelin

Biography

Bruce Hamelin joined Florida Atlantic University as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in November 2016 primarily working with women's basketball. As part of the FAU Athletics Training staff, Hamelin provides medical coverage for all practices and games, home and away, in addition to acting as host to multiple teams during tournaments. He conducts the daily evaluation and assessment of athletic injuries and medical conditions to properly treat and rehabilitate the student-athletes. Prior to becoming an Owl, Hamelin spent two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa working mainly with football, beach volleyball and men's volleyball. From August 2014 through June 2016, Hamelin spent his time traveling with the football team and both volleyball teams to away tournaments, in addition to serving as host for visiting teams during single competition and tournaments. He also assisted in the upkeep and maintenance of the athletic training facilities and equipment as well as created and managed a learning environment for entry-level athletic training students as well as university volunteers and interns.
