Biography
Jana Pladevall-Guyer joined the SACAE staff as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in August of 2016, and was promoted to a full-time Learning Specialist in May of 2017. Jana works alongside the other Learning Specialists to provide academic support to student-athletes with diagnosed learning disabilities, or who are deemed at risk. Jana’s hometown is Ann Arbor, Michigan and she has made Florida her home over the past few years. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Florida, earning a bachelor’s with honors in psychology and a minor in African studies. Jana is currently in the Higher Education Leadership Master’s program at FAU. Jana began working in athletics in 2014 as a tutor in the Student-Athlete Enrichment Center at USF. There she found her passion for supporting student-athletes academically, and began to pursue a career as a Learning Specialist.
